“Under the Influence” at Phillips auction house totals £1.8 million


Phillips London auction “Under the Influence”, which took place 10 December 2014, totalled £1.8 million with a sold rate of approximately 70%.

The most expensive pieces of the sale were by Anatoliy Kryvolap and Vitaliy and Elena Vasilieva respectively, which each sold for £68,500. Both of these pieces soared above their original estimates, which were between £25,000 and £35,000 for the Kryvolap piece and between £6,000 and £8,000 for the Vasilieva print.

Other important sales include a 1983 Warhol piece entitled Toy Series which sold for £62,500, and a work by Anselm Reyle which sold for £43,750. Another piece which sold for way above its estimate was a work by SEEN, Nobody Can Stop the Silver Surfer, which was estimated between £15,000 and £20,000, and sold for £57,500.
